Welcome
to Secrets of the Shadows
The mysteries of the world have been around since the beginning of
human existence. Probably longer actually, but for sure as far as
recorded history goes. Not many people seek a better understanding
of why some things are like this. Free-thinkers and open-minded
people are always looking for answers, not just going with what
everyone else is thinking.

Our Goal
for Secrets of the Shadows
We will try to explain the unknown, and answer the questions about
the weird altered reality that we live in occasionally. The
supernatural world that we live in is full of surprises, that to
some are bizarre, and to others amazing. Strange is an
understatement when looking and reading about many of the odd, and
unusual things that this mysterious planet Earth has to offer. One
can only speculate logically that there is a reason for all this.
Stonehenge
Stonehenge is a huge monument located in the English county of
Wiltshire, north of Salisbury about 8 miles. It's one of the most
famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is made of earthworks
surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. It is at
the center of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age
monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.
Archaeologists had believed that the iconic stone monument was
erected around 2500 BC. One recent theory, however, has suggested
that the first stones were not erected until 2400-2200 BC, whilst
another suggests that bluestones may have been erected at the site
as early as 3000 BC. To read and see more about

The
Bermuda Triangle
The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is a
region in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean where a
number of aircraft and surface vessels allegedly disappeared
mysteriously. Popular culture has attributed these disappearances to
the paranormal or activity by extraterrestrial beings. Documented
evidence indicates that a significant percentage of the incidents
were inaccurately reported or embellished by later authors, and
numerous official agencies have stated that the number and nature of
disappearances in the region is similar to that in any other area of
ocean, hmmm.
The boundaries of the triangle cover the Straits of Florida, the
Bahamas and the entire Caribbean island area and the Atlantic east
to the Azores. The more familiar triangular boundary in most written
works has as its points somewhere on the Atlantic coast of Miami,
San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda, with
most of the accidents concentrated along the southern boundary
around the Bahamas and the Florida Straits. To read and see more

The
Egyptian pyramids
The Egyptian pyramids are ancient pyramid-shaped masonry structures
located in Egypt. There have been 138 pyramids discovered in Egypt
as of 2008. Most were built as tombs for the country's Pharaohs and
their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods.
The earliest known Egyptian pyramids are found at Saqqara, northwest
of Memphis. The earliest among these is the Pyramid of Djoser
(constructed 2630 BCE–2611 BCE) which was built during the third
dynasty. This pyramid and its surrounding complex were designed by
the architect Imhotep, and are generally considered to be the
world's oldest monumental structures constructed of dressed masonry.

The
Mayan pyramids
The term "pyramid" is a geometric reference to the shape of these
construction. The Mayan version of the pyramid is truncated so that
a temple can be built on the top. The ancient Mayans built two types
of pyramids, those that were meant to be climbed and those that were
not. The first type was used for holding sacrificial rituals. The
other type was not meant to be touched and was sacred. The steps on
theses structures were too steep to climb and many times they had
doorways leading to nowhere. During their rituals, the priests would
ascend the pyramid from the earth to the sky by means of staircases.
They believed that this brought them closer to the gods.
These staircases lead from ground level to the temple. To read and

Bigfoot
aka Sasqatch
Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, is purportedly an ape-like
creature that inhabits forests, mainly in the Pacific Northwest
region of North America. Bigfoot is usually described as a large,
hairy, bipedal humanoid.
Most scientists discount the existence of Bigfoot and consider it to
be a combination of folklore, misidentification, and hoax, rather
than a legitimate megafaunal animal, in part because of the
improbably large numbers necessary to maintain a breeding
population, and because climate and food supply issues would make
such purported creatures' survival in reported habitats unlikely.
Nevertheless, Bigfoot is one of the more famous examples of a
cryptid within cryptozoology and an enduring legend. A small
minority of accredited scientists profess the view that evidence
collected of alleged Bigfoot encounters warrants further evaluation
and testing. To read and see more about

UFO's,
Unidentified Flying Objects
Unidentified flying object (commonly abbreviated as UFO or U.F.O.)
is the popular term for any apparent aerial phenomenon whose cause
cannot be easily or immediately identified by the observer. The
United States Air Force, which coined the term in 1952, initially
defined UFOs as those objects that remain unidentified after
scrutiny by expert investigators, though today the term UFO is
colloquially used to refer to any unidentifiable sighting regardless
of whether it has been investigated. UFO reports increased
precipitously after the first widely publicized U.S. sighting,
reported by private pilot Kenneth Arnold in June 1947, that gave
rise to the popular terms "flying saucer" and "flying disc." The
term UFO is popularly taken as a synonym for alien spacecraft and
generally most discussions of UFOs revolve around this presumption.

Out-of-Body
Experience (OBE)
An out-of-body experience (OBE or sometimes OOBE), is an experience
that typically involves a sensation of floating outside of one's
body and, in some cases, perceiving one's physical body from a place
outside one's body (autoscopy).
The term out-of-body experience was introduced in 1943 by G.N.M
Tyrrell in his book Apparitions, and adopted by, for example, Celia
Green and Robert Monroe as a bias-free alternative to belief-centric
labels such as "astral projection" or "spirit walking". Though the
term usefully distances researchers from scientifically problematic
concepts such as the soul, scientists still know little about the
phenomenon. Some researchers have managed to recreate OBE in a
laboratory setup by stimulating a part in the human brain. One in
ten people has an out-of-body experience at some time in their
lives. OBEs are often part of the near-death experience. Those who
have experienced OBEs sometimes claim to have observed details which
were unknown to them beforehand. To read and see more about
OBE's click here.
Near
Death Experiences (NDE)
A near-death experience, refers to a
broad range of personal experiences associated with impending death,
encompassing multiple possible sensations including detachment from
the body; feelings of levitation; extreme fear; total serenity,
security, or warmth; the experience of absolute dissolution; and the
presence of a light, which some people interpret as a deity. Some
see NDE's as a paranormal and spiritual glimpse into the afterlife.
These phenomena are usually reported after an individual has been
pronounced clinically dead or otherwise very close to death, hence
the term near-death experience. Many NDE reports, however, originate
from events that are not life-threatening. With recent developments
in cardiac resuscitation techniques, the number of reported NDE's
has increased. Many in the scientific community regard such
experiences as hallucinatory, while paranormal specialists claim
them to be evidence of an afterlife. To read and see more about
NDE's click here.
Crop
Circles
A crop circle is a sizable pattern created by the flattening of a
crop such as wheat, barley, rye, maize, or rapeseed.
In 1991, self-professed pranksters Doug Bower and Dave Chorley
stated that they had started the phenomenon in 1978 by making actual
circles on crops with the use of simple tools. However, crop
patterns not only persisted, but became astonishingly complex. Some
even came to resemble stereotypical extraterrestrials, fractals, and
archaeological, religious, or mythological symbols, thus leading to
speculation and passionate debate. Among others, paranormal
enthusiasts, ufologists, and anomalistic investigators have offered
arousing yet hypothetical explanations that have been criticized as
pseudoscientific by skeptical groups like the Committee for
Skeptical Inquiry. To read and see more about

The
Mysterious Moving Stones, up to 700+ pounds, and up to 2 miles
moved
Racetrack Playa (national park of
Death Valley, California) is famous for its moving stones. The floor
of the playa (an ancient lake) is dried, scorched mud which has
broken into perfect little octagons and pentagons. It's as flat as
flat can be. And there are roaming rocks which seem to move on their
own. The stones vary from pebble size to half ton boulders and vary
in size and shape due to them breaking off the hills you see behind
in the photo. Their tracks vary in length and go every which way
from zig-zags to loops and double back on themselves. Some travel
only a few feet; others go for hundreds of yards. How wind loops and
doubles back on itself and zig zags? Why two rocks right next to
each other take totally different paths, why some are left
untouched? To read and see more about the
